Baby time!!

Tuesday 4/10: went into the hospital to be induced at 11:30. Didn't actually get any pitocin until about 2:30pm. ugh! Then.... it was a waiting game. They upped my pitocin level every half hour, but nothing seemed to work. At 3cm dilated, the anesthesiologist came in and gave me an epidural. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The only part that REALLY was uncomfortable was when he was pushing on my back with the second needle. It was a 5 minute process and it was WELL worth it! :P After that, I also got a foley catheter. That wasn't bad either, since everything was so numb! haha! After a couple of hours, the nurse came in to check on me, took my temperature and noticed I had a fever of 100.3. So I had to go on anti-biotics. Ugh! So anyways... I was stuck at 4cm dilated for hours! Then finally.... around 1:30am, I felt a lot of pressure on my cervix and called in the nurse. She felt inside and said he could feel the head! WHOO HOOO!! Time to start pushing!

Wednesday 4/11: pushing started around 1:45 with the nurse. It was difficult trying to figure out how to push, because I couldn't feel anything from my belly down. So after an hour of pushing, the doctor came in with a mirror and I could finally see what I was doing and how close the head was coming. It was so neat watching. Finally... after another half hour of pushing.... his head made it out and the doctors took care of the rest. My best friend Steph cut the cord and then they layed him right on my chest. He cried for about 2 seconds and then fell asleep on me. Next, they cleaned him all up, got his measurements and handed him back to me. The doctor was working on getting my placenta out. THAT actually hurt MORE than birth. Apparently, the placenta was stuck to the side wall and there was a lot of pushing and pulling going on to get it loose. Ouch! He finally got it after about 15 minutes or so. I was just happy I had such a cute baby to distract me!

7lbs 15oz. 22" long. :) Ethan Morris England. My bundle of joy.

After about an hour in Labor and delivery, they wheeled me into the Maternity ward. I had a suite mate for that night, but she left very early. It was about 5am and they told me to get some rest before I see my baby boy again. I said that was fine.

So around 6:30, I was woken up by a nurse who was checking on my belly. She confirmed it was firm and I was healing nicely. I was definitely sore from the placenta problem and the nurse said that might last up to 2 weeks. :( boo! ALLLLLLL worth it for my little man! :) So after the nurse left, a man came in with breakfast. I scarfed it all down. I was STARVING! I had scrambled eggs, blueberry muffin, hash browns, sausage, cereal and orange juice! Yum yum! Definitely hit the spot! So after that, they finally brought me Ethan. :) They put him in my arms and he just slept. I stared at him for hours. Then they had to take him away for a hearing test and to get circumcised. Once he was given back to me, the nurse said he passed everything with flying colors and that he was perfect! My perfect baby boy! :) She said he didn't even cry while getting snipped either! My goodness!! Such a good boy. So I held him for a few more hours then I had some visitors. My aunt Tara, Uncle Sam and their two kids Gina and Ryan came by for a short while and held him and took some pictures. After about 30 minutes, they had to leave to head back to Delaware. Then my parents came in. We just hung out for a while then they left. I also had some friends visit me that night. That was really nice. Ben, Steph, Mike, Lauren, Jim and Nicole visited. It was nice seeing my friends hold the baby and whatnot! Glad they came in to see me and Ethan!

I was pretty tired around 9:30, so the nurses took Ethan to the nursery so I could get some rest. I slept like a rock. It was wonderful.

Thursday 4/12: I woke up around 6:30 and asked the nurse when I could see Ethan. She said they don't normally give the mom's the babies until 8 or so, but she'd make an exception for me! :) YAY! So she brought in Ethan and I just held him until I got some breakfast. I ate then held Ethan again. My parents came in around 10:30 to get ready for me to be discharged. The doctor wanted me to stay another 24 hours, but I was done. I had been there all the night before so I just wanted to go home. After waiting around for the nurses to let me go... I was finally discharged around 1pm.

On the way home, my parents and I stopped at a local hoagie shop for some cheesesteaks! Yummmmm!! I brought Ethan in with me because my friends parents own it and I knew she would want to see him. :) After that, we headed home. We got settled rather quickly. It was nice having everything already ready! haha!

Friday 4/13: Since I left the hospital a day early, the doctor recommended that Ethan see his pediatrician today. I made an appointment for 9:15am. When we got there, they weighed and measured Ethan. 7lbs 7oz and still 21” long. YAY! Doc said that was perfect! Happy mommy! So after the appointment, my mom, dad and I went to Walmart to get some stuff we needed. That was an adventure. I couldn’t walk in the store for very long… was still in a good amount of pain. After we paid, we headed back home and made lunch.

The rest of the weekend involved…. family visiting, friends visiting, yucky poops, Ethan peeing on Steph twice, cute new noises, Ethan peeing on mommy, Ethan farting so loud it woke him up and he cried for 2 seconds (lol), and lots of sleeping! I’m such a happy mommy! I can’t wait to see what adventures we take together! :)

Surprise!!!!

My goodness! I was SOOOOO surprised on Sunday (Feb 12, 2012). I'll start from the beginning!

Saturday, my mom called me and said my grand parents wanted to go to Pizza by Elizabeth's for lunch on Sunday. She told me she'd call me back with a time. So I found out, we'd be going to lunch around 12 and I was excited. I never turn down this place b/c it's delicious. So I had a boring day Saturday... just sat around and watched TV. Steph was going to her parents house sometime that night, but decided to go in the morning.

Sunday morning, I woke up and Steph had left to go home. She left me a note about how she'd let me know when she was on her way back. So I got bored and started packing up a bunch of stuff to move. I asked my dad if he'd come over to help and he agreed. We packed everything up in the truck and he said instead of cleaning off my car, that he'll just drive and then drive me home after lunch. So we got to my parents house, unloaded then waited around for the grandparents to arrive. They showed up around 11:50 and we headed off to Delaware to go to Pizza by Elizabeths.

We get there around 12:20ish and I notice a few cars that look familiar. I didn't really think anything of it... so we proceeded to head into the building. I was texting Nicole at the time b/c she said she wanted to see a movie. So my mom says that there are 5 of us, and they bring us to the back where all i hear is.... SURPRISE!!!!!!! Ahhhh!! All the women in the family and some high school friends were all there for my BABY SHOWER!!!! oh gosh, I was so surprised!!! I cried a little bit hugging everyone that was there. I just couldn't believe it. Steph was there.... lol she totally lied to me about going to her parents house! That sneaky lady!!! So after I hugged everyone... they put out some food and we all chatted. I went table to table and whatnot and it was such a good time. There were a TON of presents. I couldn't believe it. It was insane. It took me about 1.5 hours to open up all my gifts! Peanut got TONS of stuff.... bibs, clothes, pacifiers, books, blankets... just so much stuff. I'm so blessed!!! :) :) :) around 3:45, we got all cleaned up and lots of people headed home. I headed back to my parents house with Steph and Nicole and just looked at all the stuff I got. I was still in shock. I just couldn't believe it. There was so much stuff and I still couldn't believe they pulled off a surprise!! eeeek!!!!

What a wonderful Sunday! I'm so happy that my good friends were able to make it. It was so amazing to see them all. :) Such a happy girl! I can't wait to meet my little peanut! <3 So excited!!!!!

Whoa whoa woah!

Guess what!? I only have 10 weeks of pregnancy left! I can't believe it. Time sure has flown by. I'm really nervous about giving birth. Right now, I'm wearing a pair of my jeans (not maternity) so I have no idea how this birth thing is going to go down. I will most likely be getting a c-section. :( I just watched a c-section video and I'm totally freaking out. It's easy, but it's also major surgery. Eeek. Nervous nervous nervous!!

Little peanut is kicking the crap outta me this morning. Sheesh!

New year, new blog!

Well well well... here I go again with the blogging. I deleted my old one because there were way too many memories I'd like to forget. It's a new year and it was time for a new blog! So hello, 2012!

It's already the 24th. I can't believe it. Time sure is flying by. So the big news of my life is... that I'm pregnant. I will be starting my third trimester tomorrow actually. Wow. Only 70 more days... maybe sooner! I can't believe I have this tiny little baby inside my belly. I feel him (yes, it's a boy) kicking all the time. It's such an amazing experience. I wouldn't change it for the world. Things are a bit complicated with the father, since we are no longer together. Plus, I'm kind of in love with someone else completely. Confusing, I know. Hopefully once peanut is born, things will get a little easier.

So anyways. I'm somewhat seeing this guy, Kirk. We talk non-stop (texting and phone) and visit each other when we can (he lives kinda far away in Connecticut). I saw him January 14/15 and it was the most amazing time ever. We stayed at a really nice hotel in Mahwah, NJ (which is the halfway point between our houses) and just hung out all day/night. It really was the best time ever. I seriously think he is "the one"... and I dream of marrying him one day. I'm not too young to dream. And I will NEVER give up trying. I've never felt this way about anyone. He is an amazing guy who I will love forever.

As of now, I'm getting ready for the baby to arrive. I'm adding tons of things to my registry (target and babiesrus), getting hand-me-downs from family friends (life savers!!!), painted my room and the baby's room, got a pack&play for him to sleep in for the first couple of months, got insurance under control, and so much more. I have NO idea when my baby shower is... Nicole is in charge of everything! She's definitely good at keeping secrets! haah!

In other news... there's really nothing going on. I'm job hunting (I actually have an interview today in Philly for FEMA) and just keeping my options open. I didn't think I'd be here at AT&T for this long... but they have been quite good to me. I'm just waiting to see if I'm going to get a raise and benefits... because I'm going to need that more than ever after the baby arrives.

I will be sure to update on a daily basis if I can. I'd like to start being more proactive in the blog world.
